Canada Open Work
Permits will now be approved for spouses and children of working age of
specific current Work Permit holders. It will be under the Temporary Foreign
Worker Program /TFWP. This is a provisional policy to be effective for 2 years.

for Open Work Permit.
Stage 2
In the second stage,
the policy will be extended for the inclusion of family members of low-salary
category workers under TFWP after prior consultations.
Stage 3
The third stage
includes consultations with agricultural partners and stakeholders for
evaluating the feasibility of extension of the policy to family members of
workers in agriculture and farming.
Canada Spousal Open Work Permit
The Open Work Permit
for Spouses allows spouses of certain work permit holders in Canada to be
employed in any destination in Canada for any employer with some restrictions.
Spouses were eligible
for Work Permit if the primary applicant was working in a highly skilled
occupation before this policy was announced. The temporary policy seeks to
increase the emotional well-being, physical health, and fiscal stability of the
workers through unified families. Therefore it is expected that the workers
will better assimilate into their overall work environment as well as the
community.
To become eligible for
the OWP for Spouses, applicants are required to fulfill precise least criteria
