What Is Express Entry Program ?

The Express Entry program is an online system used to manage the operations of the PR Canada visa for skilled workers. It is the fastest and most popular immigration program in Canadian immigration. It was introduced in January 2015 by the federal government, to replace the old “first come, first served” process.

Apply for the Express Entry program

The operation for Canada PR Visa through the Express Entry program is a two-step process

Step 1 Create your online profile in the Express Entry program

Skilled immigrants who have work experience in 347 professions (including engineering, health professions, information technology and traditions, skilled trades, etc.) and who meet the eligibility criteria minimums can submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile in the pool.

You must score at least 67 points out of 100 in the FSWP points assessment grid to be eligible to apply under the Express Entry Program.

Once the profile is created and submitted to the Express Entry pool, they are ranked using the CRS.

Activists with a provincial nomination or without a job offer can submit their employment profile with the Canada Job Bank to seek employment in Canada.

Step 2 Admit your ITA to apply for a PR Canada visa

Steps to apply for Canada PR Visa through Express entry program

Step 1 Get ECA

You must have your credentials assessed by an authorized Canadian assessment body to prove equality with Canadian education.

Step 2 Complete your IELTS exam

Must achieve the minimum of 6 points per group in each reading, writing, speaking and listening module of the IELTS exam

Step 3 Create an Express Entry Profile

Step 4 Get an ITA

Age (maximum 12 points): You can get the maximum points if your age is between 18 and 35 years old.
Education (maximum 25 points): You must have a minimum level of education equivalent to a Canadian high school diploma to be eligible. As the educational qualification level increases, you also get more points.
Work experience (maximum 15 points): Must have a minimum of one year of work experience to obtain the minimum points. More work experience will earn you more points.
Language Proficiency (Maximum 28 points): Must score 6 per band in IELTS exam which is equivalent to CLB 7 to be eligible for Canada PR Visa. Higher CLB levels award additional points.
Adaptability (maximum 10 points): if your family members or friends live in Canada as PR, then You gets maximum points and will support you when you move to Canada. You can also earn points if your spouse or common-law partner also moves to Canada with you.
Arranged employment (maximum 10 points): A valid job offer from a Canadian employer earns you maximum points.

Express entry program or PNP – Which one is better

Most PNPs require applicants to have a valid Express Entry profile. If you have a connection to a province of Canada, such as work experience or study experience, it is advisable to apply for the PNP of that particular province.
