Canada has adopted a selection system based on points for choosing suitable candidates for Permanent Resident Visas known as the Comprehensive Ranking System or CRS.

The allocation of points to profiles in the Express Entry System is based on their:

·         Age

·         Education Level

·         Proficiency in Official Language

·         Proficiency in Second Official Language

·         Work Experience in Canada

The 4 diverse factors for the allocation of CRS points are:

·         Human Capital or Core Factor

·         Common-law partner or Spouse factor

·         Factor for Transferability of Skills

·         Extra Factors

Total points under CRS = Human Capital or Core + Skill Transferability + Extra Factors = 500 + 100 + 600 = 1,200 Points Maximum
